Here's a list of major events I was recently involved in. 

Black to the Future Film Festival - Within Our Gates

• Within Our Gates is an American silent film by the director Oscar Micheaux that portrays the racial situation in the United States during the early 20th century. It is the oldest known surviving film made by an African-American director. I collabrated with Aalanys Alfred and pianist Megan Donahue to create an orginal score that we preformed live with the movie. 

2023 Jack Rudin Jazz Championship

•  The Ithaca College Jazz Ensemble was invited to participate in the 2023 Jack Ruden Jazz Championship at Lincoln Center. I had great time meeting and networking with other students and professors from some of the most prestigious jazz programs in the country, including Temple University, Michigan State, and Florida State. 

Ithaca College Dance Concert - Momentum

• As a member of the Ithaca College Jazz ensemble, I had the opportunity to be a part of a Jazz Dance production staged here at IC. As a member of the "pit" orchestra, we sat onstage with the dancers and engaged in the choreography.  

This past semester, I presented my first recital at Ithaca alongside 4 fantastic collaborators. The program was a reflection on my first year at Ithaca, and my journey finding a musical home in Ithaca. I presented music by Joe Henderson, Christian McBride, Harry Nemo, and more.

I am honored to be a part of Ithaca College's most prestigious Jazz Orchestra, the Jazz Ensemble. This concert was one of many performances of the semester, including the annual children's jazz concert, a performance in New York City with prominent ithaca alumni (including Jeremy Jordan) and in the collaborative dance piece, Momentum! We also participated in the 3rd annual Jack Ruden Jazz Championship, at Jazz at Lincoln Center, competing against the most prestigious jazz programs in the country.
