Service Saturday, Fall 2022
For my first ever Service Saturday, I headed over to the Cayuga Nature Center to help them out with some yard work. The Cayuga Nature Center "encourages visitors to explore and understand the natural history of the Cayuga Lake Basin as part of the regional and global ecosystems. We cleared overgrown brush to make one of their outdoor education areas more accessible and safer. In the spring, the nature center plans to plant native flowering plants to fill in the area. 9/24/2022
Service Saturday, Spring 2023
For my second Service Saturday, I went to the Kendal at Ithaca, a independent living community, where we assisted residents with technology questions. I helped residents learn how to navigate and use their phones, including how to contact emergency services if the need arose. 2/4/2023
Service Saturday, Fall 2023
For my third Service Saturday, I went to the Ithaca Waldorf school, to help them build their new cattle shelter. We went up on the roof of the shelter and shingled the roof with donated materials. 10/21/2023
Service Saturday, Spring 2024
For my fourth Service Saturday, I went to the Ithaca YMCA for Kid's night out. I was assigned a 11 year old boy with autism, and played with him for the night. 2/24/24
Service Saturday, Fall 2024
For my fifth Service Saturday, I volunteered at Prunty's pantry in Campus Center. I cleaned out the freezer and re-organized it. I then went downstairs and helped clean out the dry storage. (9/7/24)
Service Saturday, Spring 2024
For my sixth Service Saturday, I volunteered at the Ithaca Reuse center. my goup pulled older Christmas stock from the shelves, and packaged them for storage. (3/1/23)
